Even More 'The Dark Knight Rises' Casting Info/Rumors

Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Line to be in Next Christopher Nolan Batman Movie

Rumor is out now that Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who worked with director Christopher Nolan on 'Inception,' is in line to be cast in the next Nolan scripted Batman movie 'The Dark Knight Rises.'  What role he would play has been kept under wraps but speculation has started to and will run wild in the coming days until he is cast and shooting starts this summer.

Most of the rumors have JGL playing the villain Hugo Strange as most fanboy's refuse to let the rumor die that Strange will be a character in the third installment of Nolan's series.  Hugo Strange is an interesting character.  Admittedly, I know little about him save what was in the cartoon series that I barely remember.  However, his storylines fit in well with what we already know.  At different points in his storylines Strange borrows money from Sal Moroni (in the previous two installments), creates and lab and works to create a genetically perfect human being which backfires and creates incredibly hulking monstrous 'monster men' (similar to the Bane storyline).

Another idea fanboy's won't let die is that JGL will be the Riddler although Nolan has come out and said that the Riddler will not be a part of the third movie.  Although I do think JGL would make a great Riddler.

If you ask me, the Hugo Strange storyline makes the most sense.  At different points in his storylines Strange has teamed up with Moroni, Catwoman (Anne Hathaway has already been cast as Catwoman's alter ego Selina Kyle), Scarecrow (has appeared in the last two installments), and his biological experiment history fits with the creation of Bane.  Nolan could use this to his advantage and create a truly dark very well constructed storyline, and although I will wait till official confirmation is given, this sounds like a pretty sweet possible avenue for this franchise.

All I know is July 2012 can't come soon enough.
